We are excited to introduce new products and services funded by the Medicaid 1115 waiver effective January 2025 including Pest Remediation Services:
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
A holistic, health-based approach that focuses on prevention, elimination, and long-term control of pests without overreliance on toxic chemicals.
Typical services include:
- Sealing cracks, holes, and wall penetrations to block pest entry
- Installation of non toxic pest and rodent traps, natural non toxic repellents
- Education for residents on food storage and cleaning habits
This reduces exposure to pest allergens (especially cockroach and rodent droppings) that are known asthma triggers.
Carpet Steam Cleaning
Deep cleaning to remove existing pest allergens and conditions that attract pests.
Includes:
- HEPA vacuuming and steam cleaning of carpets, floors, and corners
- Wiping down surfaces with non-toxic cleaning agents
Products used:
- Carpet steam cleaner
- HEPA vacuums
- Non-toxic cleaners (e.g., vinegar-based, hydrogen peroxide)
Sealing & Structural Repair
Minor repairs to eliminate pest entry points and prevent recurrence.
Services include:
- Caulking wall gaps and plumbing penetrations
- Repairing holes in drywall, baseboards, or flooring
- Installing metal mesh or foam barriers in wall voids
- Sealing around doors and windows
Materials used:
- Silicone or polyurethane caulk
- Expanding foam sealant
